As part of my Gita learning was trying to introduce a bit of the Gita to my son. For starters I had got him a Mahabharata for kids which he had read. And his reaction - " I don't get it why the mother drowned her seven sons & how come that other dude had 100 sons!!!"
So when I brought it up with the Gita reading group, I got the answer to the 100 Kaurava's.
That day we all learnt that Gita principles could be applied to parenting and that the sooner the children are exposed to the Gita knowledge the better it will be.
So Bingo, I decided to put together a Blog with the objective to collect and share Gita related and other spiritual knowledge for parents to learn and share with their kids.
The objective of this Blog is to also assist adults to further their learning in the process and to explain to kids in terms that they can relate with
And I truly believe "Its not what you leave for your kids, Its what you leave in your kids" that will shape them & the coming generations.
Note some posts may not be original and in many cases its mentioned if its a copy and paste kind of thing. I have picked nuggets from emails, Facebook posts and various sources and put them here for benefit of all.
Since I started in Feb 2012 it has been evolving and hope it continues to. Some posts are directly related to Gita and few are not, but in essence are building blocks for the value system for future generations.
If you share Mahabharat or Gita with your kids or any scripture or a generic value building discussion, there will be many questions. So please share your questions and comments and as a group we will help each other find the answers to share with the kids. Visitors are requested to post comments to enhance the content for benefit of all. Please contribute your thoughts towards the good cause.
