Chapter 3 recap

We as human beings, as instruments of action, usually connect well with this chapter and yet find it difficult to implement fully.
For ease the chapter can be segmented into 5 parts
1. V1 to 7 : is an introduction
2. V8 to 20 ( line 1) about what is KY
3. V20 (line 2) to 29 , how realised soul conducts
4. V30 to 35 - the essence of KY
5. V 36 to end - why we struggle do be a K Yogi
We need to understand that KY does not liberate us, it leads us to liberation. It is part of the process. It is for Chitt Shuddhi. As after that comes Vichara and then Gyan Yoga. So KY cleanses the BMI, enabling receiving knowledge & then deep contemplation and then union through knowledge.
Action is to be done as Yagna. Offer to the lord and take what you get.
No expectations and Parasparam Bhav. The underlying principle here.
Human beings have a tendency to hoard versus nature only gives - Sun, rivers, clouds, the Earth nurturing the trees, trees giving us the fruit. Nature does not consume, only gives. Humans consume & hoard, and share only little if they do.!
All need to act. Humans are meant to act. Wise act to inspire. Ignorant need to act to survive initially and as they evolve, for Chitt Shuddhi.
Ishwar Arpanam & Prasad Buddhi : Everything we do as an offering to Divine and everything one receives as outcome, as a blessing from Divine.
Keeping the spiritual goal as the centre of ones life enables one work as a K Yogi. A constant reminder and connection to the Divine and remembering that the sole purpose is to merge with divine, will ensure we do what is right and with out attachment.
Attachment wrecks duty as we saw in chapter 1.
Attachment and Desires are closely connected. And both cause delusion and we get carried away.
When we clean the floor lets pray to cleanse our BMI. And enable us to do regular cleaning so no dust / malice settles again.
When we cook lets heat and evaporate our judgement and other ills. (cooking is a non reversible type of action).
Be alert to Me & Mine (Recall in Ch 1 V 1, Dhritrashtra asked about my sons and the Pandavs!?
Be cautious of Desires - they lead to attachment, anger, delusion (Ch 2 V 62-63)
We are beings of action. And more than the action the motive, intention and Bhav are important as they decide the out come at the spiritual level.
At physical level the outcome can be same for the action but depending on the intention and Bhav the outcome could be binding or lead us to liberation!
